These are a collection of photos from Lake Nagawicka. I had the chance to shoot only at golden hour so some of the photos I took were under exposed after the sun faded into the horizon. I also think some light was leaking between the lens and the camera, well thats what you get with an old camera.
I look forward to viewing your blog, as I remember that you are a film student and that you've got to have eye for this already. . .
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in many of your photographs from this post, and your previous posts. The "feeling" conveyed in your style of photography has a natural, yet (somehow) earthy and grounded theme that runs throughout your work.
The photographs of the cats are wonderful; I'm not much of a cat person (I'm allergic), however after viewing your photos, it made me want to go out and adopt a cat. The photographs are playful, calm and settled in their composition and assumed narrative displayed in each photograph.
Your blog is one of my favorites so far, and I look forward to following it throughout the semester.

I agree with the above comment. The color tones/hues in your photos are very interesting. It makes me wonder if it's a setting you used on your camera or if you did some post-processing. I especially like the very top photo- it looks very much like a painting!
ReplyDeleteAgain, I agree with both of the comments above, I am especially interested in your view of objects, surfaces and places through abstraction. Singling out the simple water ripples or an out of focus view thru what appears to be a car window are great. The coloration of course plays into your photos greatly, but aside for color they show very nicely. Im excited to follow the blog through the semester.
ReplyDeleteThe third picture is a rarity because even though it is intentionally out of focus on the trees and skyline, that is hands down what creates the beauty of the photo. The colors that you caught definitely represent a particular time and place and do a great job of invoking a relaxing feelings. It kinda gives you the riding home after a long fun filled day where you take everything in and appreciate the beauty in the world.
